  1. That’s interesting could be scary at same time also to see how much they have gathered.

  2. They offer transparency. That’s a big plus. My download is ready and I will soon dig in

  3. I think it's foolish to take a trillion dollar company's word for it. I bet they collect a lot more than they're letting on.

  4. I note the difference between data and inferences as well. I expect they have me sliced and diced many ways.

  5. Why did you edit your whole comment changing the context? From making claims derivatives is for bad bets huh?

  6. Derivatives have many purposes. Many roles in regular business and in banking. Including nefarious roles.

  7. Yeah but derivatives almost doesn't have any regulation, the situation is so bad that we don't even have a notional value of all derivatives, just loosely estimatives and the number is so much big that surpasses global GDP by almost a thousand times. A quadrillion worth of derivatives isn't a healthy thing in any situation. Why crypto needs to be regulated but derivatives doesn't? Why we don't have any kind of good report of all derivatives that exists? Even if derivatives is sometimes good, this situation can't continue. It's a reckless risk that needs to be eradicated for good

  8. If the uses are legitimate then no one should argue against regulation. The current approach is a travesty.

  9. There's no relief in sight from eternal agencies. So take matters in your own hands. Either earn more money or spend less. I thought about writing advice here - but it seems condescending.

  10. These boots are made for walking That’s just what they’ll do One of these days these boots are gonna walk all over you.

  11. I have carefully pared back every subscription in my life. For streaming video - we rotate among the providers. By the time we are done with #4 - #1 is interesting again. In Canada, hot water tanks are often rented (yeah!) because it saves the builder $2k in costs while screwing the owner. Gone. Software subscriptions (like Adobe) - gone. If I don’t own it - I ain’t paying.

  12. I choose to believe that Gary Gensler is trying to do the right thing as he sees it. He is faced with people like Hester, Hester the Retail Molester. He’s faced with a bureaucracy that viewed ‘self-funding’ through fines as good enough. He’s faced with a congress that is bought and sold by Wall Street. I have watched enough of his videos - including from his teaching days. I believe he wants reforms.

  13. Somewhere in the mists of time there was a discussion about the DTCC and their ability to stop companies from changing their listing status unless ‘there was a majority of shareholders’ who wanted it. The burden of proof was on the company to meet that hurdle. I have thought for a while that 50% +1 was a milestone around that. It certainly gives GME another tool and perhaps meets the hurdle so they can do what they want with their stock listing strategies.

  14. One more angle. They are saying explicitly that you may not be even the Beneficial Owner of the tokenized stocks. So you don’t own it. And you are not the beneficial owner like if you held in a regular exchange.

  15. LOL, that's not even close! They make $5B, get caught fucking around, and are like "Gosh, you caught me. Okay, I'll return $250M, and you dudes cover the rest."

  16. “Since July 2014, around 111,000 former customers of the brokerage have received payments totalling more than $106bn. The unit’s senior creditors have been paid in full. Lehman’s liquidating trustee has also distributed approximately $5.9bn to the unit’s unsecured general creditors, a figure which represents a 27 percent distribution on general creditor claims, according to Mr Giddens. The settlement will allow the distribution of more than $600m to Lehman’s general estate going forward. Lehman initially set aside around $1.87bn to settle the dispute.”

  17. That is what originally happened. In the linked article it showed that the trustee sued Barclays for three separate reasons and WON back $4.7B. There was one of the three items that the trustee did not win.

  18. Politics. Many felons are no longer allowed to vote. Criminalize Crack to a huge extend (inner city drug choice) and trivialize marijuana (middle class drug of choice) and ensure the wrong people can never vote again.

  19. Wow, that's very interesting, thanks so much for introducing it to me. So there's no gas fees...? I'm gonna look into this more!

  20. really! I haven't been following NFTs for a while now, so I'm not sure how the market is. I know that they require an ungodly amount of shilling and time finding collectors and that's not something I was super into when they first started popping off.

  21. The style may not be what you want - but Aeron chairs (by Herman Miller) are the go-to standard. The ‘mesh’ is actually very supporting and comfortable. The chairs are rock solid. Their ‘rocking’ mechanism can be locked but the movement is not just to tilt - it kind of pivots and keeps the back support in place. Fully adjustable.

  22. Thanks for the advice. I was looking at those in the past. May go try one out . Do you have one?

  23. I do. When I started working from home I got one and it’s truly the most comfortable office chair I have ever owned.

  24. Small town south of Windsor here - lots of GTA folks moving in but they are very welcome (Kingsville). We have great restaurants, wineries and shops - all supported by the affluent newcomers. People come here for relatively low housing costs and for the mildest winters east of Vancouver.

  25. This is awesome. People are going to skin their living spaces. Hog warts. The enterprise. Tahiti. Real estate talks about location location location. In AR this can shift a bit.

  26. Short term - put a toll on the 401. Change the economic of living in suburbia. My mother drove from Kitchener to Mississauga every day for fifteen years. Change the economics and she would have found employment in Kitchener.

  27. Mirror situation - my sister drove my US licensed Porsche back to Canada for me. The car was going to return to the states in a few weeks. Canadian Customs and Border went wiggy. In the end a call explaining the whole situation with them allowed her to enter but it was not much fun.

  28. Based on Mayoral vote sums - it seems that about 50% of people voted in Amherstburg. Note - it was extremely hard to find real info on the candidates. Shockingly so. The further down the ticket you go - the less information was available. It's hard to vote when it's just a dart throw.
