Thank you again for the feedback. The SMWS are attending the Fife Whisky Festival this weekend. If I'm in luck, they may have some of this months outturn there for me to try 😁
Just messaged SMWS there as was curious, the Clynelish will be released on the 17th but they didn’t seem to know anything about the HP. Could be one of the 40th anniversary releases to come soon?
I’m going to try and get a bottle of the PC. Dramfool releases have been good, but they’ve been younger and similar price. The age on this has added an extra dimension.
I agree on the expensive part most campbelltown whiskies Longmorn Spingbank Kilkerran are really expensive even at younger years. Nonetheless, they're worth it beinf unique and something you can't easily describe/ compare from other regions.
I do have to wonder if the SMWS will have any Clynelish at all soon, let alone a 20yo, with the way they’ve been banging out the 7 / 8 / 9 year olds over the last couple of years!
I recently got to try 153.1. For those who are interested here’s some details about the distillery and a review of the bottling…
A little late to the party, but for those of you who are interested here’s a complete ranking of the bottles…
Lucky you getting to try these.
I’m sure they’ll do it at some point if Scotch remains as popular
Sounds great… have you tried the :04?
Not had a chance no.

We’ll also be there. What session are you attending?
Ah nice one. I managed to get hold of Session 1 tickets.
We’re also at session one. If you see us say hello. Our pictures are on the blog
Still no sign of the sherried Highland Park or the Clynelish on the SMWS website…
Odd, maybe they’ll be a surprise release later this month. The highland park is good if you enjoyed the other recent 19yo releases.

Perhaps, but it wasn’t marked as a 40th Anniversary bottle.
Got to try this with some very good people it only seems right to post our notes..
Air.
distillery 1, bottle one. And distillery one is Glenfarclas? that is a bit of history right there.
Yip, glenfarclas

Whisky: Hazelburn 15yo Online Tasting Week 2021

Thanks for the review. I went for the Glen Scotia this time. Your notes and the Ayran-y vibe of the original notes got me…
Glad we could be of help

Does price come into your scoring a bit here?
Yes, we take price into consideration. We use the following scale:
Looks like you had more bottles than what was in the Outturn.
Yeah, I checked a fair few of these are coming out later in the month.

Thanks! How would you compare that Port Charlotte to some of the recent Dramfool casks?
I’m going to try and get a bottle of the PC. Dramfool releases have been good, but they’ve been younger and similar price. The age on this has added an extra dimension.
Whisky: Cadenheads Miltonduff Edinburgh Shop Exclusive 14yo
8 interesting I thought it would at least be a 9 personaly
It’s good just hard to justify ranking over rrp.
Great review! Have you tried previous batches of this release? How does it compare to those?
I’d rank the last couple of years of releases more or less in line with this.
Thanks again for the reviews.
Totally agree the Scotia is a steal comparatively speaking.
It looks like it sold out instantly! Hopefully they'll be some at The Vaults and/or Queen Street, so I can at least try a dram of it.
I don’t believe they sold out of the 93 on Monday so you may get lucky
Thanks! 👍🏻👍🏻 How much ppm peated is it?
Longrow is peated to around 50 ppm
Thx. Been enjoying the standard expression
The peated? Also a good dram

CS 12 and 15yo are much more affordable and usually very good.
Whisky: Spheric Spirits Springbank (1994) Cask #94
Wow, a very low rated month, but there are 8-9 I’m still looking forward to trying.
We’ve noticed August is usually a little disappointing compared to other months.

We can only hope they’ve got a few casks stashed away. I’d also love a few mid teen Mortlachs again.
Hey, great website! Where are you and your brother located?
Thanks. We’re based in Edinburgh.
Why do people nowadays say they’re “based” somewhere, instead of just “living” there?
No idea, didn’t think about it just typed.
Whisky: Dramfool Release 47 Glenmarvellous 2
Whisky: Berry Bros & Rudd Williamson cask #05093
