News from dwarfgourami

  1. Taylor Swift is pumping her fist in the air somewhere

  2. Kanye lost his wife. Elon lost his wife. Come on, Melania!

  3. I don’t she has any incentive to leave him when they’re effectively just two single people who live with each other sometimes

  4. i had a hookup recently who was visiting and when i told him i was considering a move to colorado he was like no don't everyone lives a fake outdoorsy lifestyle and the gays are snobs

  5. The cities in Colorado suck, but if you want to live in a cabin in the woods its probably the best state to do it. Its not as cold as Alaska but it still has that wilderness feel. My aunt and uncle live in a cabin somewhere in the mountains there and they love it (but they’re also super religious libertarians, so…).

  6. fuck me $150 administrative fee and $85 credit check fee for this new place lol

  7. My apartment had a $500 admin fee, completely unrelated to the security deposit or first month’s rent

  8. I was just looking stuff up about gay marriage laws because of the new ruling and I’m kinda shocked that gay marriage is illegal in Israel. I know its religious but I always see it branded as an oasis of LGBT acceptance in the middle east. I age out of Birthright after next summer but I don’t really want to do it anymore.

  9. As much as the writer of this article is pretending that she’s trying to point out a double standard I can’t get over how clearly shady and messy it is, why does the British press hate its artists so much?😂

  10. Half of the article sounds like bad reads from a Drag Race reading challenge. “I’m not into judging people by the way they look, and that’s why I like Capaldi.” The author totally knew what she was doing.

  11. I don’t think the best way to uplift women is to just criticize men more. The author says its wrong that Adele and Lizzo’s appearances are picked apart after spending paragraphs basically calling Lewis Capaldi fat and ugly. Like, why was “He looks like he hasn’t brushed his hair in a week.” necessary? The author even says they’re aware they’re being a hypocrite but its fine because its for “the greater good.” It makes the author come across as petty.

  12. I wouldn’t say Woodley Park is super popular for people in their 20s because its pretty expensive compared to some other areas in NW DC, but if you’ve found a good deal there you should consider going for it. Its close to Adams Morgan and its just one metro stop away from Dupont Circle, so you won’t be far from nightlife.

  13. I used to be really into punk but I got bored because most punk songs are about the same couple of topics. What I really like about Amyl and the Sniffers is that their music has punk energy but most of their songs are about unique topics (for punk). Its refreshing to hear a punk song about feeling insecure or growing up on a farm. Like, this song is just about going on a cute date.

  14. Only 15 out of 324 happened during 2020-21, and realistically some of those probably would have gotten canceled regardless

  15. The neoliberal urge to comment in the DT whenever you’re on an Amtrak train

  16. After a day or so of refreshing earlier this month, I snagged a slot at the DC location in early January. You just have to be a combination of lucky and fast. Also, fwiw it seems like the Baltimore location has open appointments more often than DC and Dulles, but I’m not sure how convenient it is.

  17. Not a huge fan of my job but it involves international travel so I feel obligated to stay a year or two and get to travel the world on the company’s dime before quitting and changing careers

  18. I’m in the exact same boat. I’m getting kind of overwhelmed by my job because my entire department is two people doing the work of five, but like… flying to a cool new city once a month for free is really fun when you’re in your mid-twenties.

  19. I think the problem isn’t really with the systems themselves, its with the people lying on their bios so the algorithms have flawed information to work from

  20. I went on a date with a guy tonight and can’t decide if the following are red flags or not:

  21. Not trolling, but is there any reason why they were gonna go with a pro-LGBT armband rather than armbands for any one of the like 50 other moral outrages lol

  22. The map also doesn't save which way your looking at and it doesn't have an arrow in the big map mode so you don't know where your looking at. I've gotten confused each time opening map and it's rotated

  23. I assumed people were overexagerrating about the performance and graphics because I thought the last few games have been fine, but wow this actually sucks. Whats the point of having a giant city and huge environments if everything is ugly and glitchy? I don’t understand why the performance is so much worse than Legends Arceus.

  24. I predict that I’m gonna play the new Pokemon game for like 30 hours this weekend and then never touch it again

  25. Serious question, is it hard to get hired right now or not? I keep hearing and seeing stories about people being jerked around and unable to find work. I thought that there was a lot of work available.

  26. Its difficult to get a job that’s completely remote from the start, which is what the misanthropes on Reddit want. But its not that hard to get an in-person job.

  27. When Lady Gaga inevitably runs for office, do you think it’ll be under her real name or will she be professionally known as Representative Gaga?

  28. The most shocking thing about that “pls don’t let my girlfriend find out about my grindr” post is that somebody out there actually pays for a grindr subscription

  29. What’s amazing is that people are still working at Twitter

  30. Why quit when you might get severance for being laid off? Unless you’ve accepted another job offer already

  31. This is so strange. So he donated the money to Dolly to donate to charity? Is there any reason he couldn’t just… donate it to the charities himself? Like he’s not even genuine enough to just donate it, he has to have a middle person who just so happens to be very loved in the public eye. Agree it’s totally for publicity

  32. I used to work for a nonprofit and donating such massive sums of money is honestly really difficult. Like, you have to research thousands of charities to make sure none are embezzling money, determine which ones really need your money the most, and organize it so all the money really gets into the charities’ hands. You basically have to set up your own nonprofit just to keep everything above board, but if you do that then people are going to accuse you of laundering money. Handing the money to Dolly Parton takes the blame off him in case one charity out of a thousand has a controversy years from now, because you know there’d be a headline like “Animal rights charity that Jeff Bezos donated to turns into Peta 2” or something.

  33. My “I did not have sexual relations with that woman” T-shirt has people asking a lot of questions already answered by my shirt

  34. In a default sub thread about strategies to stop school shootings like UVA, someone suggested:

  35. Last week I saw Sissy and the Pink Bandana Guy interacting outside of Streets. It was like The Avengers but instead of superheroes it was people who wear pink headgear and harass you on the sidewalk

  36. Holy shit. My mom came into my room to bring me a plate of chicken nuggets and I literally screamed at her and hit the plate of chicken nuggets out of her hand. She started yelling and swearing at me and I slammed the door on her. I'm so distressed right now I don't know what to do. I didn't mean to do that to my mom but I'm literally in shock from the results tonight. I feel like I'm going to explode. Why the fucking fuck is he losing? This can't be happening. I'm having a fucking breakdown. I don't want to believe the world is so corrupt. I want a future to believe in. I want Bernie to be president and fix this broken country. I cannot fucking deal with this right now. It wasn't supposed to be like this, I thought he was polling well in New York???? This is so fucked.

  37. I wonder what Madison Cawthorn and his male cousin have been up to for the last couple of months

  38. If someone told you they wanted mask mandates back in your area, what would you say?

  39. I wouldn’t be able to say anything because I would be laughing too hard (Washington DC)

  40. Great message Dua. I dont like the FIFA. They have been exposed so many times. Dua is always supportin the good things. She has some ballz. The only mishap i remember from her was the covid pandemic escapades. She's generally a great human being. Cant wait for her new album next year.

  41. I just saw a crowd video of Caroline Polachek’s set at the Primavera music festival this weekend. I would be really annoyed if I paid hundreds of dollars for a festival ticket and then waited hours for a spot in the the pit just to see jumbotron cameras in front of the singer the whole time. It seems like most of the videos Caroline is posting on her instagram story are zoomed in to stage left because stage right had this big ass camera on a moving crane. I guess its good for the people in the far back or livestreaming, but there’s gotta be a better way than obscuring half the stage. For a reference of the camera, look at her instagram story where someone says “Dolores O’Riordan vibes.”
