  1. interesting the green spot is one of my favorites... may I ask what is a good sub $100 bottle in your opinion?

  2. Powers John's Lane 12 is my usual recommendation. It's about £50 here in the UK so should be below $100 in the US. Redbreast 12CS is about £75 here in the UK, if you can find that for less than $100 that's a great pour too.

  3. The easiest and probably cheapest place to find most booze in the UK is Amazon.

  4. Enjoy! Hopefully we get some reviews from you soon 😉. The red was delicious, but not as good as the gold (to me). Still waiting on my blue to come in!

  5. I'm debating whether or not to buy the Green and Yellow too, to Get The Band Back Together Again before opening them. I think we know where this will end up.

  6. Hi everyone. I know nothing about this whiskey; I got it as a free sample with a recent purchase of Gold Spot from the Master of Malt website in the UK. However instead of throwing it in a drawer I thought I'd give it a proper taste and post my notes!

  8. I am planning on trying most of these neat or in a martini, but is there a different cocktail that you feel this gin shines in?

  9. I just had it in a G&T which is 90% of my gin drinking. I suspect it would be rather good in a Gin Fizz too.

  10. Just realized young Scully is the new Jack Reacher. Maybe that's the spinoff we already have.

  11. Really liked that Jack Reacher adaptation. Looking forward to more books getting the same treatment.

  12. Apologies if this has been asked before but how can I get s13 in the UK?

  13. Ben was fuckin loving being back in action. When Luke returned from his charred family, Ben was all like LET'S GOOOOO.

  14. John’s Lane is my favorite from Powers, unfortunately not available in BC, Canada

  15. I've had 3 pours tonight of PJL and it's not even a drinking night. It's such a great whiskey, possibly my favourite discovery of 2022.

  16. I'm on the fence about getting a spot. I know a store that has red, yellow, gold, and green spots in stock for what looks to be MSRP. However I am just getting in to the Irish side of things and I do not like the peat flavor so it's been hit and miss for me. Does the gold spot have a peatiness to it? Would you recommend it over a yellow?

  17. None of these have peat. I'd start with the green, personally as it's the cheapest so if you don't like it you haven't wasted a big outlay. I'm fairly sure you'll like it, though. I also strongly recommend Redbreast 12CS (many, many folks' favourite Irish) and Powers John's Lane 12 (of which I've just had three; possibly the easiest drinking whiskey ever made).

  18. I figured I’d let you know since you helped me find the gold spot but the whiskey exchange just got blue spots in stock!

  19. I've just ordered the Red too from TWW. When my wife reads our credit card statement, I'm throwing you under the bus. Sorry.

  20. Looks fine. It's only too big if it's uncomfortable to wear.

  21. The 14 is great and I hear good things about 12 and 13 too.

  22. Bourbons and ryes are great in cocktails. A whiskey sour is a thing of beauty.

  23. Get an older bottling (pre 90s) or an indie bottling. If you're struggling to find anything state-side, The Whisky World in London has a great website, friendly team and ships to the US.

  24. Drivers name must be Pachelbel....because the was Canyon in 'D'.

  25. It wasn't just the chord progression that was descending!

  26. How is it? I've never tried any Japanese whisky, as it's not really one of the original whisky countries. Still curious, though.

  27. Definitely worth trying though a bit on the pricy side (at least here in the UK it is). The Hakushu 12 I had a dram of earlier in the summer probably in my top three pours of the year.

  28. Is there a shitty regime Corbyn hasn't taken money from?

  29. So not a single Ukrainian voice on the panel about peace in Ukraine? Does Ukraine get a say in their destiny, or do only foreigners get to decide what happens there?

  30. Jeremy Corbyn was closely involved with Stop The War Coalition, which was mix of trots and Islamists. When they held a panel on Syria's civil war (guess what, they blamed the West) some actual Syrians tries to speak from the floor about actual experiences.....they were thrown out.
