I think this really depends. I agree with the point you’re making. But when talking about “taking up space” it’s important for some to practice taking up more space, but others also need to practice taking up less space. If you’re always talking in a meeting vying for a promotion, who isn’t talking? Is that okay with you (one)? Isn’t the answer more nuanced and have to do with self-awareness?

I think of bigotry as referring to prejudice towards a marginalized group. I don’t consider internet conservatives as a marginalized group, and struggle to find common ground with folks that historically, have fought against tolerance, open-mindedness, and civil rights. If that does not describe you, and you think we are all equal in value—I’m sorry for my mistake. I was being snarky, and I apologize if it was uncalled for. It was a visceral response. Similar to when people ask folks in abusive relationships why they don’t leave. Often there are no other work opportunities in these areas and very few transferable skills. That is a lot of history to give up for what could be a lateral move into a different industry without the camaraderie that can develop in these families.

If you check my post history, I’ve never followed a commenter before. That’s how much your reply stood out to me as being particularly opinionated and uninformed word salad.
Here are the two problems I faced with this as a guy with nerdy friends that didn’t like parties:
I hear you, but as an introverted college freshman 15 years ago, lemme just say…the second X chromosome doesn’t make us immune to this situation. I had a very active sex life before going off to college, but my freshman year I didn’t even make out with someone and that was not for lack of trying. I went to the wrong places: frat parties, football games, etc to fight FOMO. I looked uncomfortable because that was definitely not my scene. Once I figured out that it is much easier (and more fun) to meet dudes while pursuing my hobbies, I was back in the game. And then maybe you might actually have something in common with them for the times you aren’t banging. If parties aren’t your thing, great! There are plenty of potential partners looking to meet (and bang) somewhere else. Communication around intentions here is especially important if you’re someone who unironically uses the term “friend-zone.” Don’t “fuck-zone” a friend, but don’t assume you can’t/won’t have the kind of sex you want to be having.

It seems like all the most popular videos had already been distilled and re-disseminated into mainstream comedy shows after the fact and I recognize them already, so I feel like a 00s kid finally figuring out what all those obscure 90s MadTV/In Living Color references meant. I recognize some top FoD bits from Family Guy, and some other bits that were regurgitated in stuff like B99 and Good Place, although I can't be fucked atm to match specific season/episode timestamps to every one so far. You're right that it was huge enough for the common internet zeitgeist to influence the mainstream.
