  1. Welcome! Huge congratulations and get ready for the rest of your life, it's just beginning, and it's going to be great. Three weeks was a huge turning point for me where I gained confidence that I could actually do this. It was also a dangerous point in the past where I thought I had "overcome" it enough to pick up again. (I hadn't.) The beginning of the pandemic was spent very similarly to how you described, hungover, regretful, sick. My life is the best it's ever been, better than I even believed possible. We're all rooting for you and happy you're here!

  2. This is amazing. I really wish my mom had made the same decision. Congratulations, and thank you so much for sharing.

  3. Yikes, she looked so fresh. I used to drink heavily like her and my face puffed up just like hers does now. A few months off the sauce would definitely help her perma-bloat.

  4. In the early days I would try to trick my brain with the old ritual trick. I would make a fancy drink, or coffee based drink, before I had to sit down and do something I would’ve done inebriated. That way it felt familiar to have a sip of something, but it would be a latte or kombucha instead. Eventually I went to working as a stress relief which helped boost my endorphins throughout the day, not just after my workout.

  5. It does not seem like he wants to marry you in the spring and I would take a step back and evaluate what that means for your relationship moving forward. You are extremely young, you don't seem to live together, and you aren't engaged. Where is this pressure coming from?

  6. I’ve been using it about a year and had no purge. Imo it’s not nearly as big of a deal as it seems on that subreddit. I use every other day or so. I mix it with a little moisturiser which I heard some derms recommend. I think it’s made my skin really glowy and smooth. I have no wrinkles and have stopped getting Botox as of about a year ago. About to turn 35.

  7. Awesome, thank you! That seems like a good schedule.

  8. If you are using Retinol then you are using a weak RETINOID. It takes 2 conversion steps in your skin to get from the alcohol form of Vitamin A (retinOL) to retinoic acid (tretinoin - the bioavailable form of Vitamin A).

  9. Mind blown, thank you!! And I forgot to add I use Elta MD religiously :)

  10. I had this issue and the only thing that solved it was quitting drinking. Waking up in the morning knowing I never have to read through cringe messages again is worth getting sober for.

  11. Thank you for the update! I’d love to see how you progress, I’m considering Halo at 31 as well.

  12. does anyone have an estimate on her actual net worth?

  13. She lost me when she started rambling about how hard it is to have POC guests on the pod because of "scheduling". Clearly, she has no plans of actually changing.

  14. I’m so sorry you’re dealing with this. I second the above poster, please go to a school guidance counselor who can help you find some resources. There may be programs your siblings can enroll in after school so you can have a break. You don’t deserve this treatment and shouldn’t have to do this.

  15. I was literally considering it and have gone so back and forth, thank you for this post! I needed the reminder.

  16. Anyone know what is going on with Claire from CMBC? She had tweets resurface from 2013 and now Swifties are giving them 1-star reviews and going after their TikTok? Anyone know what is going on? I had to leave Geneva, I can't do another app like that

  17. Yeah I 100% think they were hungover asleep college girls (like I was!) and are now severely traumatized. I can’t imagine how much worse it is with this speculation on them.

  18. Two and a half years here and everything has changed, in the very best way. I'm physically the best I've ever looked, in shape, with a defined face again, and clear skin. My relationships are strong, I haven't "fought" with anyone or had some sort of conflict since I quit. I'm better at my job which led to me earning a lot more money than I thought possible. Truly, quitting drinking was the best thing I've ever done. It was an uncomfortable three months, and then I truly hit my stride and started seeing the benefits of sobriety.

  19. Beautiful! Around when did your swelling go away completely?

  20. has anyone ever had a deviated septum surgery (septoplasty) before? i’m finally getting mine done in a couple weeks and getting a bit nervous. i know it’s routine but of course i’m imagining all the things that could go wrong! any tips or insight is appreciated :)

  21. All of this advice is true, it’s an uncomfortable feeling after rather than painful. I will say though it’s one of the best decisions I’ve ever made, being able to breathe properly was life-changing and I’d do it a million times over. Good luck, it’ll be so worth it!

  22. Hi there! I went through this a few years ago, my mom did have early-stage breast cancer but she’s completely recovered now and back to her old self. It was caught very early, hadn’t spread, and they did a mastectomy. It was a scary time, but I cannot emphasize enough how far we’ve come in cancer research, especially breast cancer. I’m sure you’re terrified, but I’m sending you both all the good vibes. My mom is doing great and I’m sure yours will as well.

  23. I used to love her but the Glucose Goddess episode really threw me for a loop. It was such junk science and it felt gross for Arielle to be giving that person a platform. I’m sober, and I love to hear her talk about addiction but she doesn’t touch on it that often. It’s fine, it’s not a sober podcast, but that’s what initially drew me in. Would love to know what the heck is going on with her and Chuck
