Getting the correct tension on the straps is important. I found for the HF-800 (which I believe has the same fit as the 6500) I needed to wear it high on my nose to get a good fit. Having the straps too tight can also be a problem. They should be snug but not overtightened.
I guess this is a dumb question, but it's not the air pollution that's irritating your eyes, is it? When visiting cities that have really bad air the first thing that bothers me is my eyes.
It’s hard to find an elastomerics that will do well in all 3 metrics: comfort, low moisture, and not much muffling.
