How seals move while on land

  1. I've clearly been drinking too much. I didn't even notice the one seal shitting the first time. And I didn't notice the other seal with a flipper missing until I watched it a third time. There's a lot going on in this GIF.

  2. I completely missed that. I was more concerned with trying to confirm if that first seal only had one flipper.

  3. Deep at the bottom of the ocean the seals have a secret underwater reddit where a gif labeled "How humans move while in water" has just reached the front page. Everyone's laughing at us.

  4. Came to the comments to see any explanation on this. I mean, didn't they evolve to hop around sand/ice? How are they able to withstand concrete or other really rough surfaces like these? Man. They must get raw from that.

  5. Poor guy’s probably out there without a flipper, swimming around in a circle, freaking out his whole family.

  6. This is the first time I have seen a video on Youtube region blocked because I am in the USA. This must be what it feels like to browse reddit as a European.

  7. The first time I watched it all I could notice was how the third seal was booking it for the water, tested the water, and then was like "fuck no!"

  8. that's why this motion is called 'robben' in german. same word as the plural of seal, which is also robben.

  9. The one in the foreground at the end is an expert at dry land maneuvers, he somehow accomplishes it with what looks like grace.

  10. If my soft carpet is rough enough to get my knees bleeding I don't even wanna think about that floor.

  11. Someone should edit out the second seal and turn it into a gif where it's flying or something
