Disaster Risk Reduction and Resilience

Supports regional implementation of those elements of the 2030 Agenda that relate to disaster risk management and resilience through:

1. Coherent and coordinated UN support to implementation of the Sendai Framework for Disaster Risk Reduction 2015-2030.
2. Coherent and coordinated UN engagement with regional and sub-regional organizations on disaster risk reduction and resilience, with a specific focus on ASEAN, SAARC and Pacific sub-regions.
3. UN support to the development of more coherent and optimized regional approaches and strategies related to disaster management, disaster risk reduction and climate change adaptation for resilience.
4. The implementation of the UN Plan of Action on DRR: Towards a Risk-Informed and Integrated Approach to Sustainable Development, with a focus on ensuring coherent and coordinated support to UN Country Teams.
